Hot pink on its own can tip into costume. Gray leather sleeves are what stop it — they cool the whole jacket down and let the pink read as a deliberate choice rather than a novelty.

It suits sorority and dance-team jackets, where the color is often fixed but the jacket still needs to work off campus. Gray sleeves also mean white, black and silver lettering all work, which gives you more room when designing.
