At Design My Varsity, every custom varsity jacket is made with care, so choosing the right size is very important. Our jackets are designed for a comfortable varsity fit, with enough room for layering over a T-shirt, hoodie, or sweatshirt.

For the best result, we recommend measuring a jacket you already own and comparing it with our size chart.

How to Measure Your Varsity Jacket

Place your jacket flat on a table or floor. Do not stretch the fabric while measuring.

1. Chest Width

Measure straight across the chest from armpit to armpit. Double this number to get the full jacket chest measurement.

2. Shoulder Width

Measure from one shoulder seam to the other across the back.

3. Sleeve Length

Measure from the shoulder seam down to the end of the cuff.

4. Body Length

Measure from the highest shoulder point down to the bottom hem.

5. Bottom/Hem Width

Measure straight across the bottom rib or hem while the jacket is lying flat.

Adult Unisex Varsity Jacket Size Chart

Our standard varsity jackets are made in a relaxed unisex fit. If you prefer a slim fit, choose the smaller size only if your body measurements allow it. If you want a looser streetwear or hoodie-friendly fit, size up.

Note: Jacket chest means the full garment chest measurement. For example, if the jacket measures 22 inches flat from armpit to armpit, the full jacket chest is 44 inches.

How Should a Varsity Jacket Fit?

A varsity jacket should feel comfortable around the chest and shoulders without pulling when zipped or buttoned.

Choose your normal size if:
You want a classic varsity fit with light layering.

Size up if:
You want an oversized streetwear look or plan to wear a hoodie underneath.

Size down only if:
You prefer a fitted look and your chest, shoulder, and sleeve measurements match the smaller size.

For athletes, broad shoulders, or larger arms:
We recommend sizing up or sending us your body measurements before ordering.

Measurement Tolerance

Because each varsity jacket is handmade, small measurement differences may happen.

Please allow a tolerance of approximately:

0.5–1 inch
1–3 cm

This is normal for custom-made jackets and does not affect the overall fit or quality.
