Pink with lavender is the softest two-tone combination in the range — two pastels together, with no neutral anywhere to ground them. It is a deliberately unserious palette and the jacket is better for not pretending otherwise.

Two pale colors side by side means almost no natural contrast, so the lettering has to create it. Navy, charcoal and deep plum all work; anything pale will need an outline to be legible at all.
